Overview:
The Portfolio Management Officer (PMO) is responsible for overseeing the governance, planning, financial tracking, and execution of IT initiatives within the fast-paced FMCG industry. This role ensures that the IT portfolio delivers business value, supports organizational priorities, and promotes operational efficiency across multiple functions and geographies.
Key Responsibilities:
IT Portfolio Governance:
Establish and maintain effective governance frameworks to manage IT programs and projects aligned with FMCG business needs.Strategic Planning & Roadmapping:
Support IT leaders in developing, maintaining, and executing strategic roadmaps across functional domains such as Supply Chain, Sales, Marketing, HR, and Finance.Financial Management & Budgeting:
Lead the budgeting and forecasting process for IT portfolios. Monitor expenditures, ensure budget adherence, and collaborate with finance on cost optimization.Stakeholder Engagement:
Work closely with IT, business stakeholders, and external vendors to ensure portfolio alignment, risk mitigation, and value delivery.Performance Reporting:
Prepare executive dashboards, progress reports, KPI summaries, and risk logs. Ensure visibility of progress and early escalation of issues.Process Excellence & Methodology Adoption:
Drive adoption of best practices in project and portfolio management (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid). Promote consistent use of tools and frameworks across teams.Transformation Enablement:
Support IT transformation and change initiatives including digital acceleration, agile operating models, and process improvement efforts.Internal Communication & Coordination:
Lead planning and execution of internal communications for IT campaigns, leadership updates, and team engagement activities.
Skills & Experience:
10+ years in IT project and program management, with at least 3 years in a PMO or portfolio management capacity within an FMCG or similar fast-moving environment
Strong experience in budget oversight, financial reporting, and vendor management
Proficiency in tools such as MS Project, Power BI, ServiceNow PPM, Jira, Excel, SharePoint, and Teams
Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (PMP, Agile/Scrum, ITIL)
Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
Comfortable operating in matrixed, multicultural, and cross-functional teams
Preferred Qualifications:
PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, or ITIL certifications
Experience managing IT initiatives across supply chain, commercial, or marketing functions
Understanding of enterprise platforms such as SAP, Salesforce, or Azure
