- Scout, introduce, validate new biological/biotech/bioinformatics/engineering/measurement tools and capabilities to enable new mechanism decoding and technology evaluation
- Engage with external partners, public domain databases, and leverage internal methodology to create objective, data-driven, and visualized in vitro models/evaluation tools/database as assets for transformation.
- Design and execute evaluation plans to accelerate technology evaluations and increase the success-rate/enable faster decision making for active ingredient funnels.
- Contribute to project ideation, planning, coordination, and discussions. Ensure alignment through healthy debates with global scientific communities within in the organization.
- Expand and upskill bioinformatic and/or biotechnology capabilities and expertise, with close connection to the global expertise within the group and R&I community.
- Capture research content in internal reports, as well as publish in peer-reviewed journals or report in public forums such as conferences and symposiums.
- Contribute to laboratory safety and equipment maintenance activities.
Professional & Technical Competencies:
SCIENTIFIC/TECHNICAL EXCELLENCE
- MS/Ph.D in bio-engineering, biomedical engineering, bioinformatics, pharmacology, basic medicine, preferably with cross-disciplinary trainings across topics such as biology, engineering, data science, and medical sciences.
- Expertise and experience in translational research focusing on advanced in vitro (e.g. organ on a chip, microfluidics, chemical imaging, multi-omics) or in silico models (e.g. network pharmacology, systems biology) would be appreciated.
- Bioinformatics and AI-driven pharmacological capacity would be appreciated, with capacity in R, Python, or Julia/Ruby….
- Research experience in industry environment, e.g. working with startups, on joint projects between industry-academia would be preferred.
- Publication record in peer-reviewed journals required.
