Based in Shanghai, China, The Product Manager will be responsible for managing and developing a portfolio of products, defining the product strategy, setting the product vision, and ensuring the successful execution of product initiatives. He/She will be involved in various aspects of the product lifecycle, including conducting research, gathering customer insights, defining product requirements, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and prioritizing feature development. He/She will work closely with various stakeholders across the L’Oréal organization to align product goals with business objectives and ensure that the product meets the needs of the target. In addition to strategic responsibilities, the Product Manager will also be involved in tactical activities such as conducting competitive analysis, monitoring product performance, user feedback, and making data-driven decisions to drive product improvements. 

 

Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills are essential for this role, as the Product Manager will effectively guide and collaborate with teams, influence decision-making, and drive innovation within the organization.

 

Key responsibilities:

 

Defining a clear product vision: setting a clear and inspiring vision for the product, outlining its purpose, target market, and unique value proposition. This will guide the entire product team and aligns their efforts towards a common goal.

 

Conducting make or buy analysis: monitoring the competitive landscape, identifying market offerings, strengths, and weaknesses. This analysis will help drive product differentiation and ensures the product remains competitive in the market.

 

Conducting user research: Through user research methods such as interviews, surveys, and usability testing, the Product Manager will gather deep insights into user needs, pain points, and preferences. The data collected will drive product decisions, ensuring that user-centric features are developed.

 

Defining product requirements: Based on market research and user insights, the Product Manager will create detailed product requirements that outline the functionality, user experience, and technical specifications. These requirements will serve as a roadmap for the development team, guiding the creation of a high-quality product.

 

Setting product roadmap: Creating a strategic roadmap that outlines the product’s future development, including feature releases, enhancements, and major milestones. The Product Manager will priorities the roadmap based on opportunities, customer needs, and business goals, ensuring resources are allocated effectively.

 

Monitoring key product metrics: establishing and tracking key product metrics, such as user adoption, retention, and revenue generated. Analysis of the metrics to assess the product’s performance, identify areas for improvement, and make data-driven decisions to improve business outcomes.

 

Partnering with Business and IT at market and global level: collaborating closely with adjacent teams to align visions and priorities and providing product expertise, training, and support. 

 

Product launches: coordinating and overseeing product launches, working closely with relevant stakeholders to ensure successful and impactful launches. The Product Manager will develop launch strategies, coordinate internal campaigns to foster user adoption. He/She will also monitor users’ feedback to refine the product post-launch.

 

Product innovation: encouraging creativity within the team, and exploring new technologies and market trends. The Product Manager will identify opportunities for product innovation, drive experimentation, and champion continuous improvement to stay ahead of demands and drive business growth.

 

 

Requirements

 

•     You love Beauty industry and you are passionate about the notion of « product ».

 

•     Desire to work in a fast paced, collaborative and multi-cultural  environment 

 

•     Proven track record of leading product management under agile and design thinking approach 

 

•     You love tech but you also love to communicate and simplify it to people less savvy than you.

 

•     Attention to details and willingness to offer solutions and clarity in uncertain contexts 

 

•     You like using Powerpoint / Keynote
