Job Title: Business Intelligence Project Manager

Location: L’Oreal Shanghai Office


Key Responsibilities:

•Strategic Insights Leadership:

oProactively develop and refine L'Oréal China’s market and consumer intelligence strategy, including the identification of key opportunities, consumer insight generation, and the implementation of methodological innovations, with a strong focus on the digital and e-commerce landscape.

oTranslate complex data analyses into clear, actionable recommendations that directly inform and influence the group's, divisions', brands', and categories' growth strategies, ensuring market and consumer considerations are at the core of every decision.


•Advanced Data Analysis & E-commerce Intelligence:

oLead the systematic collection and rigorous analysis of diverse China market data sources, including but not limited to industry panels, socio-economic indicators, cultural trends, demographic shifts, and crucially, extensive e-commerce platform data (sales, traffic, search trends, competitor digital activities). Ensure the highest standards of data quality, accuracy, and integrity.

oDeeply analyze market evolution, sector dynamics, and competitive activities within both offline and online channels to provide robust data-backed support for L'Oréal China's business strategy.

oLeverage advanced analytical techniques to identify patterns, predict future trends, and uncover hidden opportunities within vast datasets, particularly in the digital consumer journey.


•Trend Spotting & Opportunity Identification:

oOrganize and conduct in-depth strategic watch, meticulously 

monitoring emerging consumer behaviors (especially digital natives), competitive moves in the e-commerce space, and innovative new business models.

oProactively identify major market trends and disruptive forces to detect untapped growth opportunities for L'Oréal's portfolio in China.


Agency & Stakeholder Collaboration:

oEffectively manage relationships with external CMI agencies, ensuring the correct implementation and application of L'Oréal Group’s global methodologies while adapting them to the specificities of the Chinese market and digital context.

oCollaborate seamlessly with Zone and Global CMI teams, ensuring efficient transfer of local market data and fostering the exchange of best practices to elevate our collective intelligence.


•Influential Advisory & Communication:

oAct as a trusted advisor to senior management and marketing teams, enhancing their expertise and knowledge of the intricate Chinese market, omnichannel landscape, geographical nuances, and evolving consumer preferences, with a strong emphasis on digital consumer insights.

oConstruct and communicate concise, impactful messages and data-driven narratives for senior leadership, facilitating the integration of critical insights into key strategic decisions.


Key Qualifications:

•Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, Marketing, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field.

•Proven experience (5+ years) in market research, consumer insights, business intelligence, or data analysis.

•Demonstrated expertise in online data analysis, understanding of e-commerce platforms, digital marketing metrics, and online consumer behavior.

•Highly data-sensitive with exceptional analytical skills; a natural ability to extract meaningful insights from complex and often unstructured data.

•Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Python/R, Tableau/PowerBI) , experience with market research companies (e.g., Nielsen, Kantar, local Chinese data providers) is a plus.

•Fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese (both written and spoken).
